Sheikh Mohammed Yousef El Khereiji - Founder and Chairman Advisory Board

Sheikh Mohammed represents one of the leading merchant families in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He oversees a conglomerate that includes interests in hospitality, luxury goods, finance, construction, trading and real estate, is responsible for the general management of the family’s industry conglomerate, and holds other prominent Board positions in Europe and the Middle East. Sheikh Mohammed is very much engaged in charitable and philanthropic activities. He is the Honorary Chairman of the Swiss Red Cross as well as its international Ambassador, and is very active in other charitable organizations.

 

Peter James Dickinson – Advisor

Peter held a number of very senior positions throughout his career. He has worked in several countries in Africa as well as the Pacific region. Since the early eighties, Peter has spent considerable time both visiting and working in the Middle East. Peter has been an advisor to the shareholders whilst also holding a number of executive and non-executive positions for companies within the diversified international Group owned by the shareholders.

 

Jan Carel Kingma - Advisor

Jan Carel looks back on significant and broad experience gathered in a wide array of industries and companies such as Citibank, Pirelli Tyre Holding, eventually taking the role of Managing Director of Hospitality Europe, a hospitality investor based in Amsterdam. He is now working as independent consultant for selected clients, and provides management and consultancy services to entities active in a variety of industry segments, with a focus on finance.

 

Bernard Lambert - Advisor

Bernard, recognized in 2000 with the award “Corporate Hotelier of the World”, has deep understanding and experience in the hotel and leisure sectors. Until early 2012, he was the CEO of Société des Bains de Mer Monte Carlo, which owns and operates a number of prestigious and iconic luxury hotels and resort properties in Monaco, including the famous Monte Carlo Casino. Previously, Bernard was President and CEO of Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts, where he was responsible of all aspects of strategy, finance, sales & marketing, and development. Under his leadership, the Group’s portfolio grew from 75 to 130 hotels.

 

James Robertson - Advisor

James Robertson is Head of Taylor Wessing's Corporate and Commercial Group, and a board member of this international law firm. James has rare experience having worked both as a partner in private practice, and as in-house counsel until 1998. During that time he worked in Latin America, throughout Europe, the Middle East, Russia and India. James has been an advisor to Global Hotels & Resorts since the hotel group’s legal establishment. He has been a trusted advisor to the shareholders for more than a decade.

 

Herbert Schott – Advisor

After successfully completing his apprenticeship in Germany, Herbert Schott pursued management trainings in Europe´s top leading hotels in Nice, Paris, London, Madrid, and Rome. He then established himself as the General Manager of the Intercontinental Hotel Geneva that he successfully repositioned from a leisure and tourist hotel to the hotel of choice for the United Nations. During his tenure of 35 years as General Manager, he hosted more than 200 Heads of State, and numerous international summits.

 

Urs Gassmann – Chief Executive Officer

Urs looks back on 25 years of experience as general counsel, financial executive, and Chief Executive Officer in the international consulting, travel and hospitality industries. As senior executive, he has worked for both large and start-up companies in the Middle East, Europe, and North America. Urs joined Global Hotels & Resorts in 2008. He is a Swiss Attorney and holds an MBA, as well as a US CPA degree.

 

Jeroen Hut - Corporate Controller

Jeroen Hut has been working in Hotel Finance and Accounting since 1999. He has a wide and diverse hotel accounting experience, including rebranding and pre-opening of internationally branded and privately held hotels. Jeroen joined Global Hotels & Resorts in January 2014. He is responsible for financial controlling, and in particular, the monthly consolidated financial reporting of the group.

 

Robert Pollock - Property Director

Robert Pollock is a Chartered Surveyor with 25 years of experience spread equally between UK, European and Far Eastern property investment markets. Following his return from Hong Kong in 1997, Robert moved from private practice to the client side: First, working in London for a property fund, then in France to establish the fund’s European hotel investment activities before joining Global Hotels & Resorts at the beginning of 2010. Within Global Hotels & Resorts, Robert takes responsibility for all property related matters.

 

Paul Wagemaker – Corporate Director of Finance

Paul studied at the Free University in Amsterdam and graduated in 1999 with a degree in Accounting. He is a registered Dutch CPA of the Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants. Before joining Global Hotels & Resorts in January 2012, Paul worked as an auditor for over twenty years, specialising in group audits of multinationals. Aside to his responsibilities as Corporate Director of Finance, Paul is Secretary to the Advisory Board of Global Hotels & Resorts.
